Presidential Palace Books & Rare Manuscripts Archive
Sovereign archival custody, rare codicology, 600 DPI IIIF RTL folio page-turning, and multi-sig cryptographic custody for over 120,000 royal volumes and state treaties.

Executive Summary
Safeguarding the priceless cultural custody of Egyptian state palaces—including the private library of King Farouk, the imperial 1809 edition of "Description de l'Égypte", illuminated 14th-century Korans, and historic diplomatic treaties. The high-security governmental archive required sovereign on-premises synchronization, customer-managed encryption keys (CMEK), and multi-signature digital custody.
The Operational Challenge
Vriceless rare bindings and royal books cannot be cataloged like flat museum objects. They require codicological granularity: leaf dimensions, gold-tooled leather analysis, watermarks, scribe colophons, and folio-by-folio spreads. Strict state sovereignty forbade storing raw scans on public clouds.
The Hawas Cloud Solution
Configured a codicological archive engine in H-MCMS following Fond -> Series -> File -> Volume -> Folio hierarchy. Ingested 600 DPI uncompressed scans into H-DAM, generating an interactive IIIF right-to-left (RTL) virtual book turner. Deployed on an isolated dedicated cluster with AES-256-GCM encryption and physical USB cryptographic e-tokens via H-Signature.
Verified Quantitative Results
120,000+ royal volumes archived; 100% compliance with sovereign data protection mandates; non-destructive digital access for scholars with 0% light wear on original gold-leaf folios.
Sensors, NFC Tags & Archival Encoders
Bookeye planetary planetary book scanners with cold LED illumination; dedicated isolated on-premises storage arrays; FIPS 140-2 Level 3 USB cryptographic hardware tokens for senior archival directors.
